Informació centre

We are a Vocational Training School located in  L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, in the district of Sant Josep.

The school was opened in Septembre 1977. Today we have over 800 students.

We teach five professional branches:
  • Information Technology
  • Chemistry
  • Building construction
  • Administration
  • Commerce
There is also  FOL (Training i Orientació Laboral) and Foreign Language
Up to now there are eight of us taking part in the project: two IT teachers, 1 Chemistry teacher, 1 Commerce teacher, 1 TOL teacher and 3 Foreign Languages teachers. There are about 85 students involved in the project.

The IT teachers are working in two specialities (DAM and DAW). They work on a project on programming and data access. That is to say that the students work on program documentation in English. They also develop applications in English. Technical English does not exist as a subject in the higher stages, however, we believe that English is an essential means of communication in IT.
The languages teachers work with the students of International Commerce and Marketing. Their goal is to improve oral communication in English among students since we believe English will be an essential tool in their future.
They work throughout presentations on topics related to the world of Commerce; the final target is to be able to carry out the oral presentation of the "Crèdit de Síntesi" in English.

The FOL teacher works on the CV of students, commercial letters and the preparation of interviews. She works with the students of International Commerce.
The Commerce teacher works the documentation for import and export in English.
The Chemistry teacher involved in the project works on the final project of the CFGS of Laboratory Analysis and Quality Control. It is a challenge for the students since they carry out a teamwork with a company that has a subsidiary firm in the UK.

This is our first step in CLIL in our school. However, we hope that the near future some more teachers will be encouraged to take part in our project.
